Re: Tanks 1000 v 650

The 650 carby, 650ie (injected) and the 1000 all have different tanks. The 650IE and the 1000 have the fuel pumps mounted underneath in the tanks, the carby ones doesn't have the pump. The hole in the tank for the 650IE pump is round, and the 1000 is oval.

Re: New to the forum and my Raptor 1000

If you think you've got a cracked head, take off the radiator cap and start the bike up. If the coolant in the radiator starts getting air bubbles in the water, it has a cracked head. A proper Radiator repairer should tig weld it to repair it, that's the proper way to do it. Maybe even ask them to r...

Re: brake and clutch levers

They're all different part numbers, so I very much doubt any would fit, and the Grand Canyon has a hydraulic clutch.

All the information you need to make one is here http://www.raptorchapter.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=4751&p=36411&hilit=buffer#p36411 Or just google search the part number 800095580. Pretty sure the same Husqvarna part would fit, some of the other rubber parts come up as Husqvarna parts too http://...

Re: Wanted rear brake master rod

Just cut the end off a bolt and round the end off with a grinder if it's just the rod you need. I made one up when I changed to rosmoto rear-sets, but it cost me a night in hospital after a close encounter with a cut off wheel on a grinder. I recommend using a hacksaw to cut the bolt head off, and d...

Check and clean your earth strap to the motor, and also the starter motor cable and contact onto the motor.

Re: Welding......

The frames are definitely steel, if there's a spot on your frame where the paint has been scratched off you'll notice rust, and alloy doesn't rust. Putting a magnet on it will also prove it's steel. A good welder should be able to weld that lug back on with a MIG welder, but I'd check the quality of...

Re: Newbie Questions

If you have a look under the tank there's a little spigot that a hose attaches to. It's where the water that gets in around the fuel tank cap drains out and any fuel if you over fill it. The hole in that spigot corrodes and ends up clogging up so the water can't drain away from the fuel cap and ends...

Re: Front master cylinder

Happy to help mate, sorry it took me a few days to get back to you, saw your post late Sunday night just before bed and had to take a truck to North Queensland early Monday morning, hence the delay. You'll struggle to find an OEM one, but a Suzuki one should fit like this http://www.ebay.pl/itm/Brak...
