Re: Tacho problem.

Welcome in mate, I've got the same model as you, but it is fully disassembled at the moment as I'm going to restore it. If you need any help or pics of anything, let me know. Check the thin wire and terminal that goes to the front coil, the tacho is run off it. You'll have to lift the tank to get to...

Re: Bar is open...

I bloody hope they put a titanium one in Shebee, so when you're using it as a knee slider it throws off sparks and no one is game to pass you  Shame I missed the forewarning on your op, you know I would of been happy to swap places with you and you had my "little procedure" done on you instead....

Re: Touring bags

You also have the option of strap on tank bags, the base stays attached to the bike and the bag is attached with zips or clips to the base. http://www.oxfordproducts.com/motorcycl ... _on_black/

Re: Touring bags

I have M2R saddlebags that have tapered bottoms for bikes with upswept exhaust systems. I move them far enough forward so they don't sit on the exhausts. I also keep a very close eye on them to make sure they don't sag onto the exhausts. You might find it's best to remove the underseat covers either...

Re: speedo sensor

These are slightly different sizes but should do the job with a spacer so it doesn't stick too far in, and something around the bit that goes in the hole as it is slightly smaller diameter than the original. Only thing is the electronic side of things, might have to ask someone with electronics know...

Re: Tanks 1000 v 650

The 650 carby, 650ie (injected) and the 1000 all have different tanks. The 650IE and the 1000 have the fuel pumps mounted underneath in the tanks, the carby ones doesn't have the pump. The hole in the tank for the 650IE pump is round, and the 1000 is oval.

If you think you've got a cracked head, take off the radiator cap and start the bike up. If the coolant in the radiator starts getting air bubbles in the water, it has a cracked head. A proper Radiator repairer should tig weld it to repair it, that's the proper way to do it. Maybe even ask them to r...
