Re: Buell & Italian Motorcycle Festival 25-05-15
Don't know if I can get down this year. I went to Scotland last weekend and that used up my disposable income for May. Would like to go as I know some mates are going, it's a great days ride out, and there will be some tank firing as well as the aircraft displays! The Cagiva is still off the road un...

Re: Hey, shortarse!
I'm not short - though I did come out of hospital an inch or so shorter than I went in a few years ago. Seat height is a big issue for me now and was probably the main reason I went for the Rap. I don't have any real issues with ride comfort, even after a full day riding.

Re: Help for engine guards.
It's nice to be able to put a face to the name. Maybe we should all follow your example. I haven't got any photos of myself to show you so you will just have to imagine that I look like George Clooney. At least you have taken some nice shots of your bike and where you have been on it. Nearly all my ...

Re: Brake pedal raptor 1000
My brake pedal is redundant and therefore residing in a box in my shed. It means that there is a bit less to clean when I've just got back from a ride. Both front and rear brakes are plumbed into the handlebar lever on mine. Interesting to see that a number of new bikes are appearing from major manu...

Re: Help for engine guards.
Really enjoyed your review. Wish I could get there myself. I think that the best way of getting to know your new bike is to go for a good long ride on it. I know a lot of people who would not go more than about 50 kms on their first trip, so really well done. It was nice to see the bikes and the lov...

Yeah, not too bothered about the hot or the butter, but I'll happily join with you in a generous measure of the old grog!

Re: What are you hoping to get for Christmas? For the bike.
Something that comes in a big box. I like nice presents wrapped up in a nice big box at Christmas. Always have. I once got a tyre off my folks for Chrimbo once and demanded that they wrap it up for me so that I could open it on Christmas morning. Nice present and what have you, but it does spoil it ...

I want one too! I like the idea that this just bolts on by the looks of it.

Re: It's done...for now
That's annoying. Looks fine to me. Any plans for the footrest hangers? They look a bit 'abbreviated' as they are at the mo. Are you going to replace them, chop them down a bit more, or just leave 'em as they are?

Re: Hints & tips for DIY
Just getting ready to start my winter work on the bike. First step is to prep my shed. Give it a good tidy up, chucking away the various bits of rag and rubbish that have accumulated over the year. Give the floor a good sweep and make sure that all work benches are dusted off. Then I head down to th...

Re: Saw my old bike today :)
I'm afraid I'm not man enough for a V-Max. If anybody is capable of riding one on full throttle then they have my respect! Sometimes the idea appeals to me, sometimes not. I really would like a bike with a V4 engine in though. Pity that everybody who makes them puts them in a chassis that I don't li...

Re: New owner , Rainy Devon.
Hi Marcus.
Glad to have you around. Sorry to hear about the weather in Devon. We don't bother to use the term 'Rainy Lancashire' up here as it's a given. A bit like describing a giant as 'big' or a Nissan Micra driver as 'slow'. You can just assume that it's wet up here.

Welcome in, we are a rather mature lot on here but in years lived only. :D     Hi, They'll never grind me down, I'm from Accrington, and I think I'll enjoy being a member. Dave  Good grief - you've been all around the world and you wind up in Accy! In my last job ...

Re: Is my bike too old?
I occasionally take other bikes out for a test ride and often as not they just make me realise how good the Rap is. As a for instance, I went for a blast on Honda CB1000R the other day. It may be more modern but it wasn't as comfortable, you couldn't read the instruments very easily, and it didn't p...
