Re: Fitting NGK Iridium Spark Plugs ...

I think the plugs are really easy to get to on the Rap saying that I did have a Buell before and that was a nightmare. Rear cylinder is easy enough - just raise the tank and remove a wire or two. Front one is tucked right behind the radiator . The manual seems to inply you can get at it by undoing ...

Re: Fitting NGK Iridium Spark Plugs ...

I just ordered a pair of NGK CR8EIX Iridium plugs off Ebay for under £14 which is the price of standard plugs at the shops so cost is no barrier. I put one in my DRz400 years ago and it's run fine since. My feeling is that as the plugs are such a pain to get at these are the best 'fit and forget' op...

Re: Help please ,what part is this ???

Is it a tank prop? Either an official part or just something someone used and forgot to remove??
I had a Falco and some of them had an official part for that job.
Sorry - Just noticed the length. Probably not then.

Re: Raptor Failure or Not ???

Are you sure the residue was coming from the petrol filler cap drain pipe? There are 2 and the other one vents the coolant header tank I believe.
If it was the fuel cap pipe give it a good clean / blow through and see if anything more comes out.

Re: Fork Oil

I'd go with the 160mm measurement too but make sure there's no air trapped in there.

Re: Bargain!

Wow bargain! I'd love a bead breaker. That's the hardest part of doing your own tyres I find. I've never actually balanced one yet. I just leave the original weights in place. line up the red dot with the valve and take it for a spin to see how it feels. Been ok so far. The best trick I found to mak...

Re: 650IE misfire

If you must replace the filler cap seal then I'm sure that the whole cap assembly is common to other bikes/manufacturers. Mine seems pretty similar if not identical to the one on my Aprilia Falco. So what I'm saying is try and get a spare from a dealer with better spares supply than Cagiva. However I...

Re: What did you do to your Raptor today

Upon discovering a small lake collected in the fillercap recess I unblocked the drain pipe (again). It always seems to gunk up at the little nipple at the base of the tank. This time I squirted a little ACF50 into the orifice in the hope it may prevent the corrosion that I believe causes the blockag...

Re: 2 into 1 exhaust

I'm guessing that this is mostly a size issue?
SV650s have 2 into 1 but not SV1000. The smaller engine presumably not being as restricted.
Aprilia managed it on some of the RSVs but it looked like a double size end can and wasn't particularly attractive IMHO.

Re: What did you do to your Raptor today

Well today I went for a good long ride all over the Suffolk/Essex area. 180 miles and it was bloody freezing but great ride all the same. Was with a mate with a 650 Versys and we swapped for a bit. I had been thinking of chopping mine in for one (long story) but bloody glad I didn't. Whilst the Vers...

Re: Clutch cable repair kit

Are you talking about the Venhill repair kit?
Venhill kit is usually top notch so I'd bet on it working.
When I need a new cable I'll be contacting Venhill.

Re: Interchangeable parts

Just had a look at a TL parts fiche online.
Rear sprocket is detailed as 39 tooth. 120mm diam inner circle. 140mm Bolt Centre Diam. 6 bolts holes @ 10.5mm Diam.
That any help?
