Re: Touring bags

Hi, it does not have to be massively rigid, but you have to remember to keep the loading balanced from side to side.

Re: Touring bags

Sounds a good trip indeed. Would be very interested in seeing picks of the frame!! 😉 Frame. https://photos.smugmug.com/Vehicles/Motorcycles/My-Bikes/i-pngT2Cq/0/8cabfb7d/M/2017-11-16%2012.22.30-M.jpg It mounted to the inside of the exhaust hanger and to this lug on the rack. https://photos.smugmug....

Belly Pan

Hey Miz have you got any info or more pics of your belly pan, looks nice all the way under the engine, like it. Hi, I'm not sure what it came from, it was was on the bike when I got it, but here are some shots from different angles. A few years ago, I decided to stop the paint chipping on the front...

Re: Touring bags

Hi, Tank bags are difficult to come by as most are magnetic, but the Xtra needs one with straps. I made a support frame that stops the panniers from resting on the exhausts. https://photos.smugmug.com/Vehicles/Motorcycles/Round-Britain-Rally/Round-Britain-Rally-2012/i-tdjdSHC/1/0bdb159b/L/58-L.jpg

Hiya, mine has a scuff on it too, but I need to keep it until the Xtra goes, as I may need to swap them back over.
I'll bear you in mind though.

Xtra Raptor

Hiya, I'm thinking about selling the Xtra. I would prefer to sell it to someone from here who would give it a loving home rather than put it on e-bay, but it'll be going on e-bay after Christmas if no-one here is interested. Price will need to be negotiated, as it does come with some extra goodies, ...

Re: What did you do to your Raptor today

That's going to look really nice, useful to have some sheets of it too. I'm tempted to try the TLS gearing you suggested (the X-rap seems quite revvy compared to my old V-rap) but I don't have any machine tools just normal hand tools. How difficult would it be to take the 1mm off the rear sprocket ...

Re: New seat cover....

What happened to the old cover?

I had some work done on mine, was told cover was some of the best leather they had seen on a "standard" bike seat.

Thanks for the reply.....loads of variables to go through then.... Will start with the rear shock and twiddle with the adjuster...I luckily live on a great twisty road so a bit of a fettle and I'll give it a go!......👌 If you download the owners manual from here before you start "twiddling&quo...

Re: Foot pegs

Hi, a little more info might help out. Do you just need to replace an actual foot rest, or do you need to replace hangers too? OEM do have parts available, just brace yourself before looking. https://www.oemmotorparts.com/oem5.asp?M=Cagiva&T=X-TRA RAPTOR 1000&Y=2000&L=CA-RAP-1&O=FRAM...

Hi,

Also, check that the steel inserts are not "proud" of the face of the cover, push them back if you can.

Re: Clutch diagnosis? ??

When you say "dunked" the plates in oil, what do you mean and for how long?

Would be a good idea to put the plates in a tub of oil for a day to allow the oil to soak into the plates, or alternatively, keep riding (but easy on the gas/clutch) and the plates will get plenty of oil.

Here is link to a list of other bikes (Aprilia RS250) whose front discs fit the Raptor 650/1000.
