Rear Wave Brake Rotor?

G'day there everyone in Raptor land, I've finally bolted in my RSV1000 swingarm and Tuono shock for a trial fit and only have to machine up some spacers to complete it. So as I was fitting the rear wheel it dawned on me that I still haven't found a rear wave rotor for the Rap. Which bring...

Re: Chain, sprockets & swingarm

G'day there andybaggies, thanks for your input on the chain/sprocket saga, however I've sorted it out ages ago. The following dribble may be of some use to you and other Raptor enthusiasts. I use series 1 Hyabusa rear sprockets (obviously TL/SV/DL for the front). All I did to make them fit was machi...

Re: Raptor radiator screen

G'day all, I have a guard on my radiator and it's made by Rad Guard ( www.radguard.com.au ) . They are located here in Australia (my home town actually) and make guards for tons of bikes. Raptor guards may have to be made to order, however they do make them, so I guess you would need to contact them...

Re: Battery Needed Rappy 1000

G'day,
I just thought I'd put my two bobs worth in on the subject.
Crap Tartan is correct.
If it's a quality battery you want (forget cheap the crap) buy a Yuasa YTX9-BS.
They are a sealed unit & have excellent cranking power that a big twin needs.

Re: Engine genuine HT paint

I made some research this week end, and it seems the correct color is a matt RAL 7048 (Pearl Mouse Grey) I found a french website (spriod.fr) that can realise HT paint with specific RAL, for less than 20€ per can. I 'm now waiting for their answer, and continue my cleaning! G'day Gilbert, Is it a S...

Re: Wanted: stock headlamp for Raptor

Hi Boofhead, Thanks for taking the trouble to check the headlamp out. I like that the lens is appreciably wider than the aftermarket one I have, though I doubt it throws much more light. I guess the cruncher is the rust on the bezel, quite apart from the likely cost to get the unit over here, so th...

Re: Wanted: stock headlamp for Raptor

Hi Boofhead, I'm certainly interested, even though I've found an aftermarket unit that sits in there quite nicely (see under Raptor 100 technical topics for a pic). What is the overall diameter of the OEM unit to the nearest few mm? Could you send me a pm with an idea of price and, if you have any ...

Re: Wanted: stock headlamp for Raptor

G'day nickst4,
I have a genuine headlight I don't need because I've got Buell XB12 lights for my bike.
Let me know if you're interested. I'm located in Oz though.

Re: Battery relocation pics?

Boofhead - on a totally different topic & at the risk of hijacking your thread how did you get on with fitting the 320 mm discs? I'm also looking at a GSXR750 fork conversion (K2) and I'm concerned with the ease of fitting the larger discs. From what I can gather Ducati discs have the same bolt pat...

Re: Clutch conversion revisited!

Nice job Boof. I am looking into doing mine as new clutch cables are expensive. You say you had to "cut" the pushrod (DL1000 V-Strom left hand push-rod - SUZUKI PRODUCT NUMBER: 2311126D00. I had to cut this item shorter to 114mm, any longer and the clutch will slip.) yet your friend says tl parts f...

Re: Battery relocation pics?

I made a new one much more slick than the oem unit, It's wery easy to build a new one in aluminium and then you just paint it black, this make the rear inner fender look much more nicer than the original unit. I made a mould in aluminium and then I used it do make a carbonfiber batterybox/rear fend...

Battery relocation pics?

G'day everyone, I'm in the middle of grafting an RSV swingarm into my bike and I was wondering if anyone has pics of relocating the battery. I have a Tuono shock and because of the N2 canister, the battery will have to move. I understand from previous posts that a TLR battery box can be used with th...

2 into 1 exhaust

G'day again, with my Aprilia rear end mods I want to go from twin exhausts to one. To do this, does anyone know if an SV1000 or a DL1000 two into one header pipe fit the Rap? They are easy to find and surely they must fit (like the belly pan does) being the same engine, however I may be wrong, or is...
