Foot peg replacement

Thanks for the info  Just a little update on the footpeg subject which may help others. The part number has changed from 2002 Monster PN#46410181A to 2005 1000MR PN#69924171A. That part number is for a LH & RH set, and they are quite cheap for an OEM item costing only $AU58 There are p...

Foot peg replacement

G’day everyone, I’m lead to believe that foot pegs from some early model Ducati Monsters will fit a Raptor. Does anyone know which year / model etc if this is true? One of my pegs has decided to break in half with only the rubber holding it together (not much of that left these days either)....

Billet or alternative triple clamps

G'day everyone, I hope all is well in these crazy times. I’m considering replacing the triple clamps on my bike with billet ones. So, my question is, does anyone know if any are available for a Rap? and/or, does another bike’s triple clamp fit a Rap and I can take it from there? Ultimately, I would ...

Cagiva v Suzuki elctrical

G’day all, I hope you all had a great Chrissy and I hope 2021 is better for everyone than 2020!! I have been chasing an electrical gremlin and was wondering if the Cagiva electrical bits are same as Suzuki? If the problem ends up being the regulator / rectifier, even though the diodes are within tol...

Re: Fork Swap

Goodo, glad it all worked out :happyhappy: In response to some of the questions/comments about springs etc. When GSXR k4 forks are used, they need to have the springs replaced with a heavier spring because the Gixxer is a lot lighter than the Raptor. My forks were set up by Terry Hay of shock treatm...

Re: Clutch cable

I used an inner cable out of a Honda trail bike, cut it to length, put it in the Cagiva outer bit, machined a nipple for the engine end and sliver soldered it to the cable. Works fine. Then converted it to hydraulic, even better....

Re: Rear Axle Nut

Hi mate, if you can't find a genuine nut, maybe an RSV1000 nut might fit. When an Aprilia rear end swap is done, the bearings in the Cagiva wheel/hub are still Cagiva which means the axles are the same diameter. If the thread pitch is the same you might have a chance. It's worth a try. Or, measure t...

Re: Clutch cable

Hi mate,
forget cable, go hydraulic.
It's cheap, easy to do and you won't have to worry about it again :happyhappy:

Cheers

Re: Cagiva/Aprilia suspension triangles

Thanks again for every ones’ input, I rode the bike to MotoGp (4000k round trip) and it was a lot better with the extra weight on it, but still not great with just my bulk on it!! I think I’m still gonna have a crack at re-engineering the rear end in the future. I’ll fabricate/machine a jig to repli...

Re: Cagiva/Aprilia suspension triangles

Thanks for your input, Mine were all stuffed as well, so I’ve replaced all the bearings in the suspension and the swingarm. However, the bearing supplier couldn’t get bushes for the dog bone. They must be a weird Cagiva size (I think the length was the problem) so I’ll see if they are still availabl...

Cagiva/Aprilia suspension triangles

G'day everyone, I have finally got my bike back on the road with the GSXR legs and Aprilia rear… yay :D . I’ve also thrown in a Bitubo shock into the mix (which is a nice looking bit of kit) to finish off the suspension. However all nice and rosie this sounds, I have an issue with the rear suspensio...

RSV swingarm issues - need help!

G'day all, I have recently installed an RSV swingarm into my Raptor in a hurried attempt to get to MotoGp at Phillip Island. I have a couple of questions regarding the swap because of a few issues that have come up and need some help. Should the shocky be the same length as the standard sachs? I hav...

Steering head spacer

G'day all, I urgently need your help. Does anyone know if the spacer under the bottom bearing of the steering head can be replaced by a spacer from another make of bike? I kind of made a mess of mine getting the bearing off  (original was stuffed). The OEM parts No. is 8A0065503 and is describ...

Old topic - rear shock sizes

G'day all, I just need clarification on rear shock sizes before I hand over my hard earned cash to get a new one. I was thinking of getting Bitubo or Hagon. From what I understand the shocky lengths eye to eye are as follows (please correct me if I’m wrong) • Raptor = 312mm • V Raptor = 312mm • X Ra...
