Today I refurbished my gear lever assembly, with new actuator arm, and phosphur bronze bushings to the gear lever, as it was a sloppy worn mechanism, it's so smooth and precise now it a revelation.
Clutch and brake levers next on the agenda...

Re: Hi from Essex
I painted the yamaha blue spot callipers, fitted new seas and cleaned up the pistons, so I'm ready to fit the forks now, I should get time next week between work to hang the bike from my digger and get the swap done, just need to decide how I'm going to bleed the new brakes, I might support them hig...

Re: Shocking forks
Not at all CT, I enjoy these little projects, and my partner encourages me, ever since I turned up a little extension for her rampant rabbit, she says it's one of my finer qualities and redeeming features ....

Re: Shocking forks
The stock forks, for me, feel under sprung, and over damped, there are some threads on here about this, and a spring spacer and oil grade and level change improving things. Another option, which I am taking, is to fit yammy r1 4xv forks and brake calipers, I am yet to fit mine, but it seems a yammy ...

Re: Hi from Essex
Thanks CT, I thought if I make then up over length before doing the conversion, it will speed it up on the day, I might have to turn the spindle a little on the thead end to relieve the shoulder back a bit, I will find out on the day, but that will be a 5 minute job if needed.

Re: Hi from Essex
If anyone needs them turned for a conversion, I will do it, just need the dimensions, they cost me about 50 pence and an hour on the lathe, so if someone is stuck for spacers I will knock them up for nowt.

Re: Hi from Essex
I got my lathe set up in the back of me truck, turned out some spindle spacers for the r1 fork conversion, in aluminum, they will need turning to length when the forks are in the yolks, that just takes a minute. I did a bit of sculpturing on one spacer to see how it blends with the fork bottom, what...

Yes, I have a couple of wilderness kayaks too, living by the water as I do, it's good to throw one in the water for a bit of a workout.
