Re: pulsing front brake

Hi, thank you for the advice!
I would have never thought a gripping piston could cause the braking to pulsate. It's exactly as you describe, while gently braking. I'll look into the pistons when I get to the coming forkoil job.

pulsing front brake

When front braking, the braking force is intermittent, not smooth in behaviour. I saw stuff on youtube about bobbins inside the rotors can get clogged with brakedust and other debris, not allowing the floating part of the disk to move over the bobbins anymore. There are some cool workaround tips on ...

Re: New to the forum and my Raptor 1000

Thank you for the tips and the very nice document! Meanwhile I'm having the radiator fixed by a radiator repair shop that's replacing hte tubular network as a whole. The radiator will be nearly new when it gets to me. Cost will be 345 Euro, which isn't bad considering the "new" condition i...

Never use Radiator leak stop! Do real fix instead if you can.

I have found the cause of a pressure buildup in the system. It's named : "radiator leak stop"! The narrow tube that connects the radiatorcap with the expansiontank was totally clogged by a large clod of hardened radiator leak stop. You know, the one some people use intead of a decent fix. ...

Hi Susibee, how was your first ride?
Mine (naked 1000) started leaking on the repaired radiator for the second time...
Tommorow it's going of to a repairman for a proper TIG weld. Meanwhile I still enjoy that first decent ride from yesterday.

Re: New to the forum and my Raptor 1000

Hi Hifi, That seems to be a reliable company. Since I live in Belgium next to the Dutch border, I'm going to try my luck here: http://www.oranjeboom-radiateuren.nl/ A former Cagiva dealer from Kortrijk, Belgium hinted me about this company. They always work with them, and got good results from them....

Re: cooling system building up pressure?

I had a conversation with a former Cagiva dealer. He confirmed me the pressure gets regulated by the the radiatorcap. The exceeding pressure gets blown of to the expansion tank under the saddle, coolant remains in the tank and steam or air gets out via the overflow tube on top of the tank. Given the...

cooling system building up pressure?

This post I copied from the general chat, hoping the technically inclined riders could maybe recognise some trouble I'm having with my ever leaking radiator. Re: New to the forum and my Raptor 1000

Hi Snappy (and others too), I installed the fixed radiator yesterday and had a trip with it, It had no leaks. This morning I went to work via the highway and rode a lot faster than yesterday. By the time I was there (24km) the repaired spot was cracked on the same fixed spot for the second time. I f...

Re: Help needed: Footrest holder

Hi, I just had my gearshifter lever suport (don't know the exact jargon in English) broken off by a belly slide. My brother made a weld on the broken thread, drilled a new hole and tapped a thread to be able to mount the joint the lever pivoted around (it may be apparent I'm not a native English spe...

New to the forum and my Raptor 1000

Hi, I'm new, so let me introduce myself by means of making a smooth entrance on this board. I'm bvdl, I live in Belgium and I'm 37 years old. I'm the new owner of my '02 Raptor 1000. I used to ride a BMW K100rs from '88 that got a little too high maintenance in respect to it's value. It has been a v...
