Re: Fitting a Scottoiler
Since I am on my way to replace the chain and all. I was thinking about a scottoiler. So blades or anybody else, are you happy with the scottoiler. Is it cleaner or will it mess up the rear rim as much as ordenary chain lubrication?
to be honest, i never noticed a p...

no, it wasn't a set of instructions - just an email with a few images of your blue rappy, and some text which mostly said 'ignore part x, y, z'. either still working on it, or just not bothered as there aren't enough of us raptor riders around to make it worth his while! ah, 7th gear... yeah, i'm fo...

well i kinda got two sets of instructions - one was the sv650 set that came in the bag with the tre, and the other was a collection of a few pictures of a blue raptor. sorry, but i didn't keep the email once i'd fitted the tre - didn't see much point once it was fitted. i'll have a hunt just in case...

i guess it's possible that you've fitted it into the wrong place... i have to admit, i don't know my way around the wiring loom as such - i just followed the instructions i got emailed in the end, and it all worked just fine. the other option is that, as you say, the gear indicator is buggering thin...

just fitted a tre myself...
picked it up off ebay for about £35. mine's the injected version, in case that makes a difference to you: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300166655665 took me all of about ten minutes to fit, and the only niggle was that one of the wires was pink instead of grey on one side ...

as far as i know, you can't fit the dual injector to a raptor because of the swingarm (scottoiler state that it's unsuitable, but not why). i haven't looked at it, though, so for all i know they could be lying ;) having a quick look at the kit, i reckon you could probably knock something up to make ...

arnica... i'll remember that :D i even got in trouble for buying something that she said i could buy because i hadn't done anything about the kitchen! it's probably safer to just deal with the kitchen first... but once that's out of the way (which i'm told will be before xmas), i'll be seriously thi...

i think i've just seen yours on ebay! :D as much as i'd love to, i've been told by the other half that a new kitchen comes first. then i'll be allowed to think about it ;) unless of course you'd consider a straight swap for an 06 650ie, tinycators, renthals, scottoiler, 4500km on the clock... althou...

[laughing] fair enough. i picked mine up on ebay, new, for about £60 or so. didn't think that was too pricy. if you do get one, and you want a hand or just a look at the install, just give me a shout. hmm. think mine's still on the original chain and sprockets too. is there any particular reason to ...

taz, just noticed that you're in brum - whereabouts? i'm working in hall green during the day (just around the corner from the station itself). you're welcome to come and have a look at the install in person if you like - i'm not on my bike today, but i'll be on it tomorrow. failing that, i live in ...

they're in exactly the same place as on the 650ie. have a look at the first picture above - they're fairly easy to spot once you've identified the throttle body. it's basically two rubber bungs held on by a small metal ring/clip on the rear cylinder, and one rubber bung and one tube on the front one...
