Agree with everything said, too vertical in stock form. After raising the rear approx 40mm I'm now worried there's too much lean and therefore weight on the sidestand, might have to weld a 15mm or so "jack up plate" to the sidestand...............hmmm.

Re: Update on the mods.
Fork oil level is 160mm (air gap). Not sure of the oil weight but would probably be either 7.5w or 10w. Falco shock, whilst not top shelf, was a vast improvement "for me" at 95kg. It also has rebound adjustment, for 60 bucks and a couple of hours work I am very happy, even amused. To re-bu...

Re: Update on the mods.
Nice clean bike you have there Big Ears :D (noddysbestfriend) The jack up plates certaintly do make a difference. You could get your shock re-built, re-valved and perhaps a heavier spring depending on your weight of course (cheapest option). I found the cheapest option for me was to fit an Aprilia F...

Re: Cagiva Canyon 500
Re handlebars, stay with 22mm bars for ease of grip, throttle and switch block fitting. Smaller diameter would just look too skinny also. You could check out "Jota" adjustable handlebars or "Raask" Laverda adjustable handlebars (Google) for something suitable to your requirements...

Re: engine temperature
Sometime ago someone, Coose I think, fitted a lower operating temperature thermostat. Maybe search his threads/posts to see exactly what he did, I just can't remember.

Miz that scene almost makes me want to cry. Does your poor Rap live outdoors or did you just get caught out somewhere
Nice pic Brutas, a red Rap surrounded by snow, very Christmasie (if that's a word). Pretty sure that's what Santa would ride

Re: The Oberon Prformance barend indicators cool or not?
Not something I'd do Magnum but as they're fitted I'd leave them on, don't look too bad really. How bright are they ? So long as oncoming traffic can see them is my concern.

A belated ditto to what everyone else has said (away from PC for a few days), especially safe riding during 2010. Not sure what a hot mulled cider is snapdragon but with temps in the mid 30's C. down here, it's Bacardi and coke with ice, lots and lots of ice please

Re: Best Engine Oil?
Bfef, for years I used Shell VSX4 semi syn. in my Ducati's as recommended (sponsored). I was told Mobil 1 full syn. was the best so I used that for quite a while including in my Raptor. I am now using Motul 5100 semi syn. cos I've been told that's the best. In all honesty I could never tell any diff...

Re: top yoke sizes please
I think I understand what your trying to achive craigus re: top yoke. I can see why the 28mm or 30mm measurement is critical if you're using the Raptor bottom yoke. Could you not use an R1 or similar (gixxer) complete triple tree then make/fit axel and caliper spacers to accomodate the Raptor wheel ...

Re: top yoke sizes please
craigus, measurement between forks is 205mm, the other measurement is 30mm. Hopefully someone else will confirm these measurements as I'm not absolutely 100% positive, would be easy and accurate with top yoke laying on a bench.

Re: just sold my baby...
Know the feeling wreckah, when I traded my Monster S4 for my Rap back in '05 I felt very sad and even kind of trecherous. Took a few days to get over it and appreciate how much better the Raptor was :D Well you had a great run out of her with lots of fond memories I'm sure. Good luck with the KTM :)...
