Re: Odd Stuff in Petrol Tank
I used my fuel pump gasket again as it was in good condition and just coated either side with blue hylomar and it's never leaked in a good few years now

Re: Odd Stuff in Petrol Tank
that looks like that plastic liquid sealant you put in a dry tank and swill it all around to seal it so its probably been leaking in the past.
If its breaking up then it is no use and will almost certainly block fuel delivery to the pump. Any warranty given with the bike?

Re: Stripping rattle can paint off the fuel tank
I wouldnt use any stripper on the tank, its a strange plastic and may not react well. I would sand it back to as smooth as you want it, use a good quality filler/undercoat to give a good solid base and then paint with your sprayer! If you have done plastics before it should be just more of the same....

Re: Red lights & fault codes...
were any of the indications on all the time (not flashing) whilst it happened? Did the bike continue to run normally durint the time of fault indications? (rev fully) usually if it continues to run whilst showing a fault it means the ECM has lost or one of the signals are out of tolerance but not co...

Re: Tanks 1000 v 650
pretty sure the tanks are the same although 650 one may be slightly narrower, just not sure!
If frame is same then fittings should be same to attach the tank.

Re: External oil (?) pipe
A pic would help but I`m pretty sure that's part of your PAIR system.
Is anything leaking from it?
You could just remove it, clean it up, maybe paint it and it should be fine.
Is the bike running fine with no problems?

Re: A new venue for next years gathering?
Looks nice! Good facilities and nearby shops/pubs etc make it a goer but cant get the price page to come up??? Its less than 20 miles shorter for me (exactly 300 miles) than East Kirkby so not much in that really. How far was east Kirkby from you southerners anyway? I am up for having another Raptor...

Re: Stutter and no smooth drive
I agree normally would look at plugs and caps but the OP said it's happening around the 3k mark and worse when cold so that's why am pretty sure it's black box territory........

Re: Stutter and no smooth drive
My engine was smooth everywhere else in the rev range but if not over 85 engine temp then it would stutter around the 3k mark, fine if you can keep your engine about that figure but if not............... Try doing everything else and go over all that has already been done but I will bet you will end...

Re: Stutter and no smooth drive
This sounds like its almost certainly the common problem on 1000 raptors. Read the topic "TPS reset" started by me some years ago and you will eventually get to the black box fix. Its a long read but its an easy and cheap fix and hasnt failed to sort out the same issues as you describe inc...

Re: Newbie
the black box mod is my invention and doesnt give more power but deals with the power delivery glitch around the 3k mark. Do a search its well documented on here, if you an solder then its a few quid to build the black box or for the same I can make you one plus P&P of course. For better power t...
