Advice please !

Hope you enjoy your 1000 (not 100, I hope!). So far as I'm concerned, no screen is cool unless you like wind-noise. Probably the best mod for improved rideability is to upgrade the suspension, but it doesn't come cheap. Tail tidies are generally grotty bits of cheap bent metal but a lot of people li...

For Sale

Too high a price for a market in which few people are interested? There seem to be a lot of over-priced slow movers on ebay.

Annoying Tick Solved

Brilliant bit of problem-solving, and let's hope you banish the other tick too!

Do you think there's a waterproofing issue here that can be addressed, or was the 'rust' simply evidence of metal-to-metal contact without lubricant?

Wanted Raptor 1000

Hi Wayne,

I'm not itching to sell my 1000 (not V-) but my hip joints don't much like the riding position. Are you still looking for one?

Raptor 1000 project

Looks very neat! Did you get it refoamed or just covered? A bit more height would be good unless your lower appendages are somewhat short!

Raptor 1000 project

Busy, busy!

Am I right in thinking that the Timing Retard Eliminator is only helpful when extracting the last ounce of power from the motor through the gears? Have you had experience of fitting one before?

Congrats on undertaking the preservation of our Cagiva heritage! You ought to be able to get a grant for it.

Std exhaust heat shields wanted

Can't help with exhaust shields, but I'd be interested to hear about the speedo readout. My 1000 is a low-mileage bike and has always had a readout that says km while actually reading mph figures. Not a big deal but irritating! I think the subject has been kicked around before...

Xtra raptor clutch lever mount

Just for interest, where exactly did it break? It wasn't just the separate clamping bit with the mirror thread in it? That would surely be common to most bar clamps.

Wiring diagram

An obvious point, but didn't we have a discussion some time ago about the fuel pump needing a higher-rating fuse than the original? Maybe that was on the Gran Canyon forum...

What did you do to your Raptor today

It probably ought to be posted elsewhere but having described fitting higher 'bars on my 1K here, I better add the follow-up in the same place. I thought at the time that I'd managed to re-route the OEM cables and front brake lines satisfactorily to permit the fitting of 'bars approx 30mm higher. As...

1000 project bike for sale

Well, advancing age is inevitable but it's sad that you've become disenchanted with motorcycling. Maybe your local roads are in as bad condition as mine? Or is there just too much traffic on the roads in Kent for fun riding? Whatever, I hope you can shift some of your stuff on to good homes. Cheers,...

X-rap found on Ebay

Been on there a few weeks, and asking price doesn't necessarily reflect value until someone puts their hand in their pocket!
