Re: Throttle Cable Epic

A slosh-around-inside solution I'd think. I've treated several nylon Cagiva tanks with Caswell epoxy to protect the inside against ethanol/petrol degradation, and it works well.

Your pics of the tank blanking plates came through OK, but the above ones get a 'page doesn't exist' response. Very odd...

Re: Hi All - Help needed pls - electrical issue

John, Glad to hear you got to the bottom of the problem! You can just attach a pic to your posts, but it must be rather small, <250kb if I remember rightly. Otherwise, you need to use one of the image-hosting sites and then include a link in your post. I use imgbb.com and find that pretty easy, and ...

Re: 2002 V raptor 1000 fork seals

I'd guess your 2002 bike had sat in a showroom for a couple of years before being sold. Weird styling takes someone special to appreciate it! :D

Re: Brake pedal raptor 1000

You could try fixing the bit back on using the low-temp welding stuff that used to be called Lumiweld. You've got to be good with a torch to do it, but I've had a brake pedal repaired like that on another Cagiva for many years and its still solid. Otherwise, you'll be lucky to find another one or an...

Re: Shebee syndrome?

Well, I'm pleased to say I had a good ride on the 1K today without any joint problems, so a much-loved bike will stay chez moi. I'm tentatively putting it down to taking a magnesium malate food supplement that is supposed to prevent cramp, which has been a pain in bed recently too. Researching the s...

Re: New Seat (sort of)

Well done! I wouldn't have attempted that; several of my seats have been modified by professionals and the result is usually an improvement. Were you looking for more comfort, or just a higher riding position? Or both?

Re: Shebee syndrome?

Hey Shebs, it ain't your fault! :o Glad to hear that you found your sweet spot in bikes with the 1100 Scrambler. I have a sneaking feeling that it'd do everything I want in a bike, so long as the suspension is better than on the average Monster. Been there, loved the look, but never gelled with the ...

Shebee syndrome?

I didn't ride the big Raptor much last year (or anything else in truth), and the couple of times I've been out on it recently, I've had nasty transient cramps in both of my hip joints. This is because of old age I'm sure (I'm appreciably older than the biblical allowance of three-score and ten), but...

Re: Front Brake Pads

My knee-jerk response to brake-pad queries is Goldfren HH, being a little less aggressive than the EBC ones, not to mention cheaper and causing very little disc wear. However, I have to admit to losing confidence in the Raptor's front brakes since a major problem with sticking pistons in a professio...

As a Ducati enthusiast, I'd have to admit they are more fragile/needful of attention than the Suzy lump we enjoy in our Raptors. Mind you, none of my Ducati engines have ever let me down...

Re: Rear fairings carbon fibre

I wonder why you decided against the CF ones? I've been down the same route with bits for bikes and decided that the CF stuff can look a bit tarty. OK if you are on an extreme weight-saving quest or the only way you can get the bits you need, but otherwise a bit 'look-at-me!' Maybe I'm not extrovert...

Re: Newbie Raptor 1000 Owner

It won't work without a dongle, unless it's a very primitive alarm that might have a setting switch. I don't suppose DataTool will be helpful either, you not being the original purchaser. Possibly you could use the connections with a new one though, if you need it. As you say, something to think abo...
