I've just remembered the manufacturer I was trying to think of - they're not Fournales are they?

Definitely a Cagiva, but not a Raptor!
Very nice... what rear shocks is it wearing?
Many moons ago a work mate of mine had one of the first 500 Pantah's that I took out for a couple of rides so I can attest to the smoothness and quality of the ride. At the time I was riding a Ducati Darmah so the difference was even more apparent.

What did you do to your Raptor today
Well, I've finally got round to taking the rear Wilbers shock out and getting him refurbished. The bottom bush was showing signs of play and after at least 30k miles the damping fluid would probably be like puddle water and just as effective.
It'll be interesting to see if I notice a difference.

End of an era 😕
I think there will always be a (small) market for well kept Raptors... they are now ~20 years old and starting to become, if not classics, interesting ones to buy. 'Ol Reggie may not be one of those as 50k commuter miles has left him a tad scruffy so perhaps he'll be a keeper with a well earned rest...

What did you do to your Raptor today
I have just looked and I'm not entirely sure but I think the LHS adjuster moves the complete (internal) reflector laterally left or right in very small increments within the headlight glass/shroud. If you look the plastic shroud above the knob has a curved arrow indicating L clockwise & R anticl...

This is for the V-Raptor - I understood the LHS adjuster to be the adjustment of the near side cut off position and not necessarily the left/right adjustment of the complete beam. If you get what I mean. So it might be a little difficult to actually see this movement. I'll have a look meself in a co...

Leaking?
Nick,
Whatever the stuff is I still reckon it's 'play' and looseness of these bolts over time that causes the leak rather than any issues with the gasket itself.
You suggestion of using 'actual' loctite may well provide the better solution.

Leaking?
Haha, so like me you now have a correct sized spare in the cupboard then. great to know i can get one from you guys if i need one then! :haha: Ha-ha-ha - ain't that the case... :D But I reckon it might not be the gasket itself that fails but rather the bolts. They come with a 'nyloc' type blue thre...

Leaking?
Holy thread resurrection batman! :o Well, I have also just suffered the same issue with a leaking tank and also with the confusion over ordering a new gasket. I initially ordered a gasket from my local Suzuki spares emporium and they sent me a 44590-02821 which was listed as a replacement part for t...

Andy, i ride a Shiver 900, which has similar torque and about 10bph less 95 vs 105 for the raptor, all at similar revs, but when you open up the raptor, wow it would leave the prilla for dead!, it is as you say a peach of a motor Yep, it gives you the best of both worlds that thrill when in the upp...

F1 Error
 thanks Trevor... I'll have a look next time I'm working on him. I'll be doing the valve clearance at some point so that would be an ideal time. The reason for asking is although I haven't had any error codes I've had him very occasionally running on one when starting in the morning especi...
