Re: Braking bad, braking better...
Timely, I actually just bought some red rubber grease to use while putting a kit through my master cylinder. That red rubber grease it great stuff. I try to be diligent and clean the brakes once a year usually after the winter. Take a caliper off, gently squeeze the lever with the pads chocked to r...

Re: Dead Raptor
why do people still look to fit them? I know it's always stumped me.... it's not as though they are performance enhancing or cheap. Fashion is a fickle maiden. Get a newer series reg rec if you can. The old ones short everything not needed to ground so the stator is working flat out all the time. T...

Re: Dead Raptor
There's plenty of confusion surrounding using Li-Ion batteries with older charging systems - specifically the regulator/rectifier. Here's a link to an Electrex World warning sheet (pdf) https://www.dropbox.com/s/f5ekhntoafnc693/Battery%20Types.pdf?dl=0 I tend to think of the regulator/rectifiers as ...

Re: Dead Raptor
Not as silly as it sounds Nick, is the battery just knackered or perhaps been burnt out by a faulty regulator/rectifier.No battery?

Re: Rear caliper swap
As Nick mentioned there's nothing inherently wrong with the caliper. The master cylinder itself could also be the issue with it's piston seizing in the bore. Again due to ingress of dirt/muck and/or lack of grease. It wasn't your mechanics attempt at bleeding that caused the issue was it? To do it p...

Hylomar blue will also do the job and again it's non-setting and fuel resistant http://hylomar.com/hylomar-product-rang ... compounds/I used some black non-setting sealant to goo up the existing gasket, all seems to be good so far!

Re: Roll on Summer!
Enjoy... :revrev: Well, we've just had what I consider to be a great summer weather wise but unfortunately I didn't really use the bike as much due to being on furlough and not daily traveling into work. Did manage to use the time to give him a good strip down and refurbish mind... nothing too fancy...

Re: Fork Swap
So when it comes down to it, there's a bit involved to getting it right and it pays to have someone who knows what they are doing to set the forks up to your individual needs. This is what swayed me to go with the Matris cartridges. Perhaps not as good as a bespoke set up but certainly much easier ...

Re: Red Mist Wish List
So it still looks nice and is pleasingly free of any significant corrosion, but it's certainly not a going concern at present. Anyways, I'm still here, glad to see all the others who are too. Just been enjoying a browse around. Hi again folks :tada: Yo, 6 years? Pah! I can beat that I've had an old...

Re: Bit Green
Not sure if it was previously owned by a forum member but It has been looked after with a few mods, most are pluses. Like rear Nitron shock, front Matris carterages in the forks, Carbon can co cans and blanked off PAIR valves. It does sound nice and the previous owner seems to have bought top quali...
