Re: whats your milage ???
Mine's a 2001 with 16400 on the clock (I've got a few old MOTs to back up the mileage) that's only about 170 miles per month since it was new! Fits in exactly with snapdragon's coment of only 2000 per year from a dealer. I'll be doing that in a week riding back and forth to work, hope the old girl c...

Re: mpg
On a similar subject, I'm a Raptor newbie and haven't got used to the fuel consumption of my 1000 yet. Can anyone tell me how many miles I am likely to get from a full tank before it hits reserve? How many miles would I possibly get on reserve? I understand the fuel tank is 15 litres, does this incl...

Adjuster LH side engine?
Can anyone tell me what the thumb screw / adjuster on the left hand side of my Raptor 1000 is for? It's a small black plastic twisty just above where the clutch cable disappears into the engine. Many thanks.

Re: Surging below 3000 rpm
just a thought :| And a damn good one, thanks. I'll see how it all fits together on Saturday :D I don't think I've ever "flashed" anyone on any bike ever, just encourages them to pull out on you - as if they need encouragement! Now, hooking it up to the horn would be a bad idea, it would ...

Re: Surging below 3000 rpm
I'm so pleased - the simple trick of unplugging the clutch lever switch has transformed the bike. It's literally like night and day, so much easier to ride now. Going to sort it properly on the weekend with a better switch. Thanks retrospectively to everyone in the linked thread for sussing it all o...

Surging below 3000 rpm
Hi Everyone, as you have probably gathered I have just got my first Raptor. Can I ask, is it normal for it to stutter below 3000 revs? Then at 3000 it surges and takes off smoothly up to the redline. Thing is, it makes it difficult to drive around town especially with the missus on pillion. I find I...

Another new member / new bike!
Hi everyone, just bought a 2001 Raptor with 16k miles on it - collecting it on Wednesday this week (12th Aug) as it needed an MOT. Already getting some tech tips from the forums, going to look at the back brake first as it was pretty weak on the test ride. I live in the South West kinda near Bristol...
