Re: A Canary Cafe Racer
Your project sounds interesting ! Can't wait to see it finished. Try to find forks with radial brakes. 43mm usd forks should be pretty bolt on swap. The ide is to make a low budget bike so I have to wait until the right parts show up. A front fork means also calipers, discs and wheel =$€£. Make a n...

Re: GSXR CONVERSION
Replaced the suspension plates to add more rear ride height.
I think I ordered 30mm ones but it doesn't look like 30 mm difference.
The new shock should be a bit taller again anyway.

Well, local quoted $130 for a seal kit, ebay had them for around $115, but just ordered a set directly from US for $95.ozzraptor wrote:55 years agonice work mate, yeah is a good time to stay off ebay with the au. dollar worth next to nothing, great if your selling though

Re: GSXR CONVERSION
One part done... three to go and order new seals. Seal kits are surprisingly expensive thanks to low aussie dollar damn it!

Re: GSXR CONVERSION
Definitely quite tidy, but still I'm not 100% convinced. For a very forward nose like that I think it'd look cleaner if there was something to join the nose to the rest of the bike, with it completely separate then it does look like it's not a bikini fairing per se and is just a part of a fairing p...

Re: GSXR CONVERSION
I was going to run the same pipes we use on the 650 rap - see pic below. They're cheapies - easy to replace and weigh nothing. Were meant for a M900 monster. The upper fairing on that is from a 748/916 but I might go for 2000+ 900ss/1000ds upper for something different. Similar to the radical ducati...

Re: GSXR CONVERSION
Thanks @V4mp I'm pretty sure the Ducati discs will fit and I'll get a few spacers made up.
Will note all the dimensions down once complete for anyone else wanting to do the same.
Meanwhile, I'm going to rebuild these callipers and paint if they don't clean up well enough. You get what you pay for!

Race engine cases
Hi All,
Does anyone know if you can buy race case protection for the Cagiva Raptor/V raptor (TL1000S) engine.
Woodcraft example below (for an SV650):

How long ago did you sell one from QLD?
I purchased mine last year from a dealer in Queensland.

Re: What steering damper
Forgot to mention, once I've set the Raptor 1000 up, I may look into one. I've got a spare GSXR k5 unit that I may try and adapt. I've seen people tap into the frame - but might look into making a nice clamp. However, not a priority at the moment.

Re: What steering damper
If you've altered the geometry, lowered the front, raised the rear - then you may need a steering damper. I have one as standard equipment on the 748 and it works well. My race sv650 doesn't have one, and the geometry is far from standard - but all is good, however, I've had a few vicious slappers i...

Re: GSXR CONVERSION
Purchased these online for a reasonable price - hopefully they're in working order when they arrive! I've also found nice R6/R1 monoblocs that I might buy as well - and set up down the track. But for now the GSXR stuff will suffice. Now just need to source brake rotors (I think Ducati 320mm fit the ...
