Re: I'm hiring a Harley, please don't think of me differentl

I must admit that i'm a bit curious how you experience the bike. I never drove a Harley and wonder what all the fuss is about. I get to ride Harleys nearly everyday at work as they are one of the most common makes we transport. I can understand why people like them, and I think it's mostly because ...

Thanks Tikka, you just reminded me to take the TV tuner I've got that plugs into my phone while I'm away in a truck so I can watch Motogp, might end up flattening the battery on the bike keeping my phone charged though lol

I'm hiring a Harley, please don't think of me differently!!!

So I've decided as a birthday present for my Girlfriend I'd hire a Harley Street Glide ( http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_AU/Motorcycles/street-glide-special.html ) for a weekend to take her away. Since I transport motorcycles up and down the East Coast of Australia ( http://www.roadhogtransport.co...

Re: Hi from Newcastle Australia

G'day MZ, welcome from another Aussie, hope you find what you're looking for, I have a 650 and after having bigger sports bike, it suits me perfectly. The 650 destroys tyre edges and toe sliders. If you find something you want anywhere on the East Coast, give the boss a call http://www.roadhogtransp...

Re: Help for engine guards.

Was looking at your pic of you checking your tie-downs Ozz, don't know if you're aware of it, but I transport bikes up and down the East Coast, and just thought I'd mention a few things about your methods. Go down to your local Harley dealer and ask them for some of the straps they get that are used...

Re: Brake pedal raptor 1000

I've got Rosmoto rearsets on my 650, and I just used a piece of 25x3 flat aluminium to hang the exhausts from the bolt that holds in my underseat tray and my ventura rack bolts to it too. Making up a set of custom rear sets shouldn't be that hard, my Rosmoto ones aren't designed by a genius. If you ...

Try this bloke down at Browns Plains http://custommotorcycleseats.com.au/ and get yourself one of these http://www.trenditaly.com/seat-cover-cagiva-raptor-1000-vtr-p-7137.html . If you're going for single seat registration you have to drill out the pillion peg mounting holes, I've got a set of these...

Re: Next week's load going south...

That would have to be the first choice, after my M.A.N of course Spyke  ....and it's a '42 WLA Shebee. It's been doing a good job of stopping my truck's deck from rusting by dumping oil all over the place, I picked it up last week in Cairns.

Re: 650 V 1000 - spot the difference!

1000 has a white tachometer face, the 650 has a black tachometer face(mine is a 650 but had a 1000 instument panel and read 40km/h when it was doing 100 km/h), and the speedo sensor on the 1000 runs off the front sprocket and the 650 has it running off the rear caliper bolts.

Have you checked the switch in the clutch lever? Sounds like that is shorting out.

Re: Interchangeable parts

From what I remember you have to get the inside of the rear sprocket for the TL1000 machined out to to a larger size to fit the Raptor. I get my sprockets from this guy, he makes ones for the Raptors
