if you can service it why not? does the 749 shock fit to the raptor? I'll service it before installation. Not bolt-on, need spacers I think. just dragged out my spare original type shock and took some measurements; top mount width is 34mm bottom mount width is 42mm length of shock is 310-312mm this was just an eyeball/tape measure job so dont hold me to any great accuracy!!!lol Thanks those measures will help me to find shock hopefully ...

I made quick search from forum but didnt find Raptor rear shock dimensions.
I have tried to found replacement for original shock on now have couple of options, but the thing is will they fit.
Please help, I need whole things lenght, and upper and lower mounting widths.

I've owned Raptor 650 and I had to replace clutch cable when it started to fray.
I used SV650 cable and it fit OK. If cable is too long you can "reroute" it through frame.
I didnt had that problem because wider steering bar.
