Re: air filter
Don't know if this is relevant in this case, but when I first had my Rappie I had real difficulty getting the tank front bolts back in. I can't remember if the tank was too far forward or rearward, but forward would be my guess. I imagine that under repeated severe braking the weight of fuel and the...

So far:
BP Ultimate and Murco: Ethanol-free, at least in Worthing West Sussex, UK
Tesco: 4% ethanol
More as it happens…Please contain your excitement.

That looks like about 4% ethanol, given my usual inability to quite get the levels to the line.- 11 years ago

Re: TPS reset
For a thread that started off on Throttle Position Sensors, it sure wandered about a bit :) On TPS: when I first had my Raptor I had too many incidents of the engine cutting out on shutoff and a tendency to splutter when opening up hard from low revs. Reading comments here led me to conclude that th...

On Shed's point about lowered octane rating:
Apologies – I had seen this mentioned several times during my initial research but forgot to mention it.
Those that had made this comment had also suggested using an octane booster.

Re: Ethanol in fuel
Add three drops of dye and shake as per instructions; allow to settle: P1030944_2.jpg Shock, horror! No change, therefore no ethanol! What is going on? Well, it turns out that my daughter may have chosen a fuel supplier that still does not have ethanol added. My first reaction was that my te...

Second test: Murco 95 octane
(I don't know the actual Murco designation, as my daughter got me a jar full when she put fuel in her car yesterday and only made a note of the octane rating.) Water level: Fuel level

Re: I apologise
Boy, could this get heavy. Go ask Vincent or Edvard. Not that you can. Vincent went under; Edvard recovered. A pastel version of The Scream sold for just under $120M last year. Go figure. I had a pretty bad patch back when I was forty and still have the occasional "unmotivated" days. Now, ...

Re: Changing fork oil
Thanks for that, Shed. Having tried to make sense of the manual, this really will help. Shame it wasn't just a case of taking out the bolt at the bottom and draining it, though. Ho, hum… :( I've copied your text and produced something that I will be able to print out and use. Maybe I'll add it here ...

Re: Changing fork oil
I haven't tried to do this either – and, as far as I can see, the Cagiva documentation seems to avoid considering this as a stand-alone maintenance operation. It is mangled in with dismantling and overhaul of the fork (Section E: E6 to E12) Do you have a copy of the workshop manual? If not, I could ...

Re: Ethanol in fuel
Final comments on this particular test: Here is a photo showing the small syringe that I used as a dropper. I have placed a £1 coin in for scale. P1030935.jpg Although I have determined that my local BP Ultimate is ethanol-free, there is the very unlikely possibility that the test is faulty, so I'll...
