External oil (?) pipe

Post by Lol57 »

Hi Again all
I expect you'll get fed up with my stupid questions soon and tell me to zip it but whilst
I'm still able to can I ask about the chrome pipe
on the offside of the cylinder block on the offside of the bike
Mine is badly corroded and I ask if replacement s
are available be they Suzuki or Cagiva
Thanks

A pic would help but I`m pretty sure that's part of your PAIR system.
Is anything leaking from it?
You could just remove it, clean it up, maybe paint it and it should be fine.
Is the bike running fine with no problems?

That's got to be the Pulsed-Air feed to the exhaust port, added by Suzuki for emissions reasons and of no value at all to the function of the motor in my experience. On the contrary, I have a feeling it contributes to the awful discolouration of the exhaust headers by virtue of increased heat. You can remove it entirely, given you blank off the port on the head(s) or you just might find a used set on ebay that looks smarter than yours. Otherwise, a bit of rust-proofer and silver paint would do!

Thanks
Problem I've had is that before my ownership
The bike lived outside and I think this is going to be a recurring theme
Thanks again for the advice remove rustproof and paint it is!
