Fuel Reserve

Post by Lol57 »

Hi All,
I don't have a manual with my Raptor, so I wondered what sort of distance is there left when the reserve light comes on please?
thanks

650 carb or injected or 1000?

Certainly on the 1000 you get a flashing light first and then when it goes solid PANIC... the mileage between the 2 does depend on the enthusiasm of the throttle use :revrev:

I have never actually run out (yet) and have managed 20 nervous miles on solid  . Hopefully you will get a more definitive answer from someone here. But a search for 'reserve' will give a few pointers including some from smug 650 riders :?

Hi
It’s a 1000 ,
I try to get fuel when the flashing light first comes on, I reckon you are about right with the twenty or so miles as it’s not a huge tank, probably it’s only failing!
Thanks

Yes, what Shebee said! Fuel up immediately it starts to flash in my experience, when it goes solid expect to get off and push within a few moments. I've never got more than fifteen miles on reserve.

That'd be 220 rather slow 650-powered miles I guess? :nerner:

Tank range on mixed roads 100 miles from full up to flashing light
I have One Time had fifty miles from there on whilst desperately searching for a fuel station, in highest gears riding frugal speeds and slip streaming a truck for the last part .. the length of the M6 toll.

Aside from the rider's enthusiasm and road conditions each bike appears to have its very own 'full light' point, it's been noticed whilst riding in a pack (herd/flock/group/?) that some go on to full before others.
