Wiring M-unit v.2

Post by V4mp »

Hi,

I've decided to install motogadgets M-unit v.2. to my bike, but wiring isn't my cup of tea...
Here is simple wiring diagram for M-unit v2.Image
Can someone tell me what is missing to make Cagiva run. :ride:

I've plan to change indicators to led ones, remove some safety features like clutch- and side stand switches, get rid of handlebar controls and replacing them with ISR/motogadget ones... Maybe something else. :toocool: Plan is to simplify wiring loom and make future mods easier.

I've found picture from wiring loom, but didn't quite get it.
Is it fully functional?

So are you going to replace the existing loom and just fit what you need?

Have you been having problems with your wiring/ connections?

It just seems an awful lot of expense to still end up with a running bike and not really any additional useability or performance?

OK, the switchgear and units will look trick and the wiring will be much neater and tidier but whats the driving reason for making you do this?

What in particular dont you get in the wiring loom pic?

Yes

No, I haven't had any problems with existing loom.

I've ISR mastercylinder and I want to change clutch lever assembly to matching ISR one.
ISR clutch assembly doesn't have place for clutch switch, which means problems.
I'm replacing side stand too because it hits exhaust and its too short so side stand switch needs to be removed.
I also have plans for future too... And new wiring might help installing those. So new wiring loom is preparing for the future. ;)
Neater and tidier loom would make disassembling bike easier.

There are couple of points I don't get...
- How current goes in parts antitheft connector (37) and injection gearcase (1)? Is antitheft connector some kind of power distribution unit?
- What jogging (31) does? Confuses me why it is wired with turn signal and stop light switch?

I have a printed copy of the workshop manual and that first diagram is not in the manual but the second one is what I have in the manual.
Unit 1 is the ECM and has plug 1a and 1b connecting to it.
I am unaware of an anti-theft device fitted.
Unit 31 - Jogging could be the tilt sensor on the other diagram which is just behind the headstock?

Where did you source that first diagram as its got things that dont seem to be Raptor 1000?
