Sidestand and/or spring

Post by andybaggies »

Just noticed the larger of the two sidestand springs has broken.

A quick look on ebay shows a spring of roughly the same size might work but does anyone know of suitable replacements for either the spring or complete stand?

Just seen an exhaust spring which is the same length but too small a diameter to contain the smaller spring.

So why do we have/need two springs?

Not sure why they have two but as I have a sidecar now instead of a stand then if I can find the side stand and springs then that's you sorted!! Lol

Mighty kind offer there CT but hold forth for the moment because I've ordered a couple of springs one from wemoto & another from ebay. And I reckon at least one of them should work.

Besides it'd be a shame to split up the stand parts as I only need the spring - which in all probability will just rust through & snap again.

Sidecars do have an advantage then... but just remember it's there when you pull in for gas

Oh BTW I reckon the two springs are part of a mechanism that allows the bike to fall over when they automatically & unexpectedly flip up the stand.
