Big Decisions

Post by Miz »

Have been told by work this week I have to go on a 2 week training course at "Head Office" in July, will only need my laptop and clothes for the 2 weeks, so here's the question...

Do I sit back and let work organise the flights etc, then park the car at Heathrow (or somewhere similar) for 2 weeks?

Do I "negotiate" with work and take the Xtra, getting work to pay for fuel?

Did I mention, "Head Office" is in Pesaro, Italy. So would have to leave on Sat morning and ride 1250ish miles in 2 days, then same on the way back

Route would be through the tunnel, then through France & Switzerland and into Italy.

Would be good to take the Xtra back to it's roots...

So very tempting?

You need transport for work once there?

If you can carry enough for 2 weeks on bike i would go for it....... as long as work will pay you mileage of course!

Only need to get me and the laptop about 5 miles from hotel to factory.

It's a software training course, so will need something to relax my mind, other than wine..

Blooming heck, you don't really need us to tell you! :happyhappy:

How's your annual leave looking - if it were me, and I had two weeks spare, I'd be taking one each side of the course....

New litter of pups arrives on 1st July, think I;m lucky getting my pass stamped for the extra weekends either end of the course. I'll just make the most of the trip, if I can talk my boss into letting me go..

it would be especially good if you could extend it to have a lazy trip there and back. I recommend you start sitting on the edges of bricks to get your arse ready for hours in the seat.

Work have decided that it's too far/risky and it would be dodgy on their travel insurance if I had a bump, so they are not letting me do it.

Shame, maybe your working too hard and need a holiday, make some contacts while you are there and maybe get free accomodation.
