In on it. Managed to wangle the Friday off but having to work the Sunday night shift which isnt the end of the world. As for my bike it's been fucked since last August and I just haven't had the time or inclination to look at it. Can I come in my car? lol.

It was only firing in one cylinder. I suspect it's carb related.

Good stuff Norrie! Could be a faulty plug, ht lead, crap stuck in the hole the plug sits in, which clearing the drain hole might help.

Not the first time folks has turned up in the car. It's always plan B for me, now I've got my own wheels again.
There's a couple of folks interested in joining us. Mark, after a long illness fancies his chances making the ride up, and an old Raptor member who has been absent for some years.

Hope it's OK for them to come along.

Oh and as for the bike when it broke down I alreadt changed the plugs checked for spark etc hence why I think it's carb related.
Does anyone know if SV650 carbs are the same and if so what years?

Sv650 was carbed between 99-02. Not sure if they're a match, but I'm sure a bit of delving will bring something up?

I was taking it for the MOT and it started misfiring running in one. I have drained the carbs and fuel tank so fresh fuel. I changed the plugs and checked for a spark. Nothing else so far. It has sat in the greenhouse all winter because the shed was full of stuff out the house. It is back in the shed on charge but not looked at it yet. Will need to drain the fuel again

When you checked for a spark, what was the result?

Too late now, but it is always better to drain the carbs when you park the bike up, as when the fuel dries up it leaves a sticky/jelly residue that easily blocks jets when bike is re-started.

Yeah that was the problem when I bought the bike and I hadn't used it much what with moving house etc so I hope its the carbs again.

Well it definately looks like I can't make this meet now. It dosen't help that I triple booked myself. Absolutely gutted but there you go. Perhaps we could have another meet later in the year?
