Bird Strike

Post by HiFi »

Hi all, just got to work, think a little drinky to settle the nerves might be in order!
On the M5 at 75mph, pigeon flies up out of nowhere from the hard shoulder. BAM straight into my visor :? Look into mirror and huge cloud of feathers spreading all over the motorway. Everything seems OK so keep going apart from the ears ringing from the BANG impact...
Have just finished cleaning chunks of bird off my jeans and jacket and the bird shaped splat on the visor  In almost 30 years of biking never happened before, just thank my lucky stars it didn't hit my hands or chest.
Or worse still, the bike and break some unobtainable piece of plastc! :(

Ooo er, bird strikes are never good and it still amazes me just how many feathers they have.

I knew a guy who was a passenger in a car that took a swan hit on the M40 and it went through the windscreen. Luckily he was wearing glasses because he said he was cleaning blood & guts from his ears, nose & hair for weeks

Nasty...
rather shocking when if happens..it's like your under attack!

I was riding on a gsxr :revrev: ....and caning it. :revrev: :revrev: ....suddenly found two pheasants on each side of the road  ......buttock clenching stuff!
Knocked off as much speed as I could and sat up!
Decided to go for the middle of the road :happyhappy: .....and one of the buggers decided to fly towards the other one. ...hit me straight in the chest...felt like a bowling ball! :ouch:
Managed to stay on but was quite sore for a bit! :naughty:
