Newbie from the Philippines

Post by KiwiRider1971 »

Kamusta

I'm a expat kiwi living here in Cebu City the past 7 years owned my raptor V 1000 for 9 years purchased in Australia. Love the bike and the feeling I get when blasting around on it, I have a story to tell about the bike which I'll post in the next few days...

It's great to be here and can't wait to be a part of it all...

Good to have you with us, and we await your story with interest! We hope the marital entrapment wasn't too traumatic?

Hi Shedmonkey the riding is hot and dangerous but insanely rewarding LOL roads are narrow and over crowded with everything imaginable out to get you, I've ridden in a lot of countries in Asia and the Philippines is up there with the most dangerous I've encountered.

The plus is once you get to where your going its always great fun, cheap resorts cheap beer and food and very friendly locals. The map is our normal overnight loop on the odd weekend the boys hit the road.

Alcoy www.bbb-alcoy.com

Moal Boal www.lovesbeachresort.com/moalboal_howtogetthere.html

The regular is Lunch in Alcoy and overnight in Moal Boal, both places have cold beer and great food. You can normally find a pretty cheap aircon room for around US $35.00 per night. Moal Boal has a great little beach community with many sports bars and restaurants all walking distance from your resort.

Heading south out of the Cebu City once you hit north of Carcar City the the traffic madness thins a bit theres a nice hilly section of road over to Barili or the coastal road south towards Argao then Alcoy. I dont mind the rain as it cools things down a bit and keeps most of the smaller scooters off the road. Speeds are normally lowish but you can have a blast without fear of police.

Hahaha hi Nick avoiding marital entrapment was a skill I thought I had sorted till my lovely wife came along and with all the freedoms one can lose she never stops me from riding with the boys, something a few of my ex's from 1st world countries tried but unsuccessfully couldn't beat out of me.

A pic of me and my 2000 Rappy in Melbourne a few years back before having it shipped here and one of me about to test ride a Filipino Tricy-cab LOL the test didn't go too well...

I'll fill you on the story of the bike in the next week or two its about to hit it's climax...

Amping (take care)

Out of interest, and assuming your bike is a Raptor1000 at heart, do you still have the original headlight? I've been looking for one for ages...
