Raptor forks and models

Post by hondaxl1 »

Hi, I was thinking of putting a cartridge insert on my raptor. The one below is said to fit a 2008 raptor and when I contact the seller and the manufacturing company they think it will fit. Question 1: did they make raptors up to 2008 and beyond, 2: does anyone know if the forks are the same. Ken

I believe the last raptors wee made in 2005/2006.
The later ones had the SV engine fitted rather than the TL.
Some may be registered later but usually only because the had not sold.
All 1000 raptors have the same forks bar the xtra which had upgraded forks I think.
A cheaper option may be to change the forks completely as there are a good few options possible with fully adjustable and quality possibilities.
I have forks from an R1 on mine but others have used other manufacturers forks.
There are lots of threads on here so get busy with the search button first.

All models excluding xtra-raptor has same forks.
If you are not interested in upgrading the brakes I think those could be worth trying, I've heard that many aftermarket cartridge kits are better than for example öhlins stock sets.
