Fuel light advice

Post by Sheepracer »

Don't fancy finding out- but how many miles can you get once the light starts flashing? I guesstimated about 1 gallon left in tank but am probably wrong. Who's run out on here ?

Cheers

I've done 15 miles at motorway speeds and definitely wouldn't fancy going much farther.

Howdy.... In the city, if I fill up within about 20kms of the fuel light first flashing, then I'll put in 12. something litres. I normally get about 150kms with the fuel light just starting to stay on and I still put 13. something . Best I've got in total range was 208kms in the open country sitting on between 110kms and 140kms per hr. The fuel light was staying on - not flashing - for about 28kms....I felt very lucky.

Fuel light starts flashing with 5 litres left ish. I have done about 30 miles from there and it was occasionally coughing right at the end.
The flashing stops and it stays solid after about 20 miles............

I ve emptied the tank and then full it up.
Needed 16,8 litres to fill up.
My light comes on at 14 litres and I did about 40kms before I run out.

I didn't run out, but on one trip last year -mainly motorways- light started to flash at 100miles as usual, went on to full at 115ish I was out of my area and no fuel in sight, scared rigid I finally found a fuel stop with 155miles on the counter, previously the farthest on one tank has been 135miles, bit shocked by the final total.
