Help needed: Footrest holder

Post by EdGreat »

Hello.

Does anyone know a place where I could find a footrest holder for a Raptor 1000?

I went belly up with my bike on a track day and broke the footrest holder. Normally it wouldn't be a problem but the exhaust cans are attached to the holder and I have no other idea how to mount those cans.

Thanks for the help,

Hi,

I just had my gearshifter lever suport (don't know the exact jargon in English) broken off by a belly slide.
My brother made a weld on the broken thread, drilled a new hole and tapped a thread to be able to mount the joint the lever pivoted around (it may be apparent I'm not a native English speaker, sorry for that...).
I would think if only the tread is damaged (where the thread should be) it would be feasable to do the same.
Find yourself a good welder (friend, family,...).
I hope this helps.

I know it's no help but on my first Rappy I had to buy one from https://www.oemmotorparts.com/ but looking on there now they don't have any left (probably a good thing as it was £££££££s) :yuck: Maybe these people can locate something? http://stores.ebay.co.uk/cagivaparts

Hello!!!

When my raptor fell over in the driveway, it bent the gear lever and snapped the footage mount. After much deliberation, I got a local boat repairer to weld the aluminium back together. I left the weld bulge - didn't grind it off as the welder suggested - as it adds a bit more strength.
