I have one question to you Raptor veterans!
Does you use the Choke during summer time on your bikes?
I'm considering eliminate the air box and swapping it for something a bit smaller! Where I live it's always summer.....
I have tried the electrical system to day and every thing runs ok, But I have to relocate the battery and the DMX box as there is less place for them now.
I'm going to pickup a better adjustable shock absorber to improve the de stability for the rear end next week.
Is the front fork ok for sporty driving on mountain roads?
Do you think that it's enough to change the springs and use a more viscous oil to improve it for hard driving?

The stock forks are soft. I had them looked after by a specialist and he fitted progresive springs and thicker oil, and some different shims. I now have more feel of what the front is doing and have more confidence

Yes, when staring bike and using until water temp is about 40C then I switch blackbox on. 8)

Do you've any good reason why you should remove airbox ? I don't find any why I would need more space under the tank... :D

Replace rear shock and forks, originals are rubbish.

I gone make a new tank and I may need some more extra space under as I loose liter making the tank smaller.
It also looks nice with two racing filters coming out under the tank .

I will start with the rear suspension as I have to make the aprilia swingarm work right. I don't want a to use a tailriser kit as this will make a the rear end softer! (http://www.bikefarmmv.de/EN/tail-riser/ ... hp?fid=200 12 )
What I will do is use a better rear shock absorber and with hight regulation.
When I find a nice second hand front fork at right price I make the swap.

Your project sounds interesting !
Can't wait to see it finished.

Try to find forks with radial brakes. 43mm usd forks should be pretty bolt on swap.

The ide is to make a low budget bike so I have to wait until the right parts show up.
A front fork means also calipers, discs and wheel =$€£.
Make a new gas tank is just some material as I have a composite work shop.
The tank will need some Gelcoat, resin and fiberglass for the mould and the 2m carbon fiber and some epoxi.
To day I have take off the bike the wheels, fork, swingarm to paint them

I found out that the rear shocker from the Honda hornet 600 from 2012 is a bolt on conversion.
I dont know how it runs but its far much stiffer and very cheap 35€

Final y I purchased a rear shocker from an Yamaha R1 2008.
It was an easy task to adapt and I hope it rides well!
But I supuse that I won't know that before the bike hitS the road again...
