Ho Hum - Another Aussie (Adelaide)

Post by CagedEvil »

My shout then is it? No fancy mixer drinks thanks - short term memory problems.
Have a Raptor 1000 2001. Matt black.
Staintune pipes, BMC filter, Gipro TRE, PCII, manual clutch switch (more about this elsewhere), plus 'removed' 35mm off each end of the std bars.
Thanks to everyone out there with tips and hints - makes a great bike unbelievable. Cheers :D

Hi!

Glad you got in eventually... does 'removed' mean 'took off on truck mirrors?'

Welcome!

No, fortunately not taken off by truck! Deliberately sawn off to make filtering easier. Also not surprisingly faster steering (need to be careful initially!). Further added bonus (for me at least) is that the position feels more comfortable AND (yet another bonus) you are less prone to flapping in the breeze at speed. Apart from the hack-sawing you also need to drill new holes for the switch gear locating pins, but this is just a matter of moving along the bars the same amount sawn off and re-drilling.
