Rear Suspension Bearings

Post by TimO »

Evening all, nice weather we're having :!:

Today I finally got round to installing the tail riser triangles (the ones from Bike Farm). It's pretty straight forward when you replace the bolts in the right order. It feels and looks good when it's done :D
I couldn't help noticing that the bearings in the suspension rocker (the dog bone shaped thingy) when a little stiff to say the least, also the rocker really didn't move up and down much at all. I was expecting it to but maybe it doesn't need to?
So, any ideas what the bearings are and secondly does there need to be easy movement of the suspension rocker?

Thanks

Well its better if it moves freely, and yes it moves but not a lot
Have you tried cleaning and new grease again?
Sorry don't know any part numbers, maybe someone else does.

Shouldn't be too hard to get new ones if they are worn out, most bearings are standard sizes.

cheers

Thanks, those'll be the ones. I'll order some.

Raising the rear has made such a difference, almost like riding a new bike, looks so much better as well. If you haven't done it yet, put it to the top of your list of things to do.
