V-Raptor 1000 Screen

Post by roxy-raptor »

Ok, I have probably missed a thread when searching for it but....

Having decided on a skidmarx belly pan I would like a screen.
The one I really like is http://en.item.rakuten.com/coreline/sec-bc005dc/
But they wont ship outside Japan!
Any other suggestions besides skidmarx and the people who have do they make much difference?

Thanks all

Roxy.

If they do not ship outside Japan why does their shipping calculator give me prices for shipping to the UK??

They weren't available for V-raps in '02, so i ended up making my own.
Mine started life as a Suzuki RF900 screen (heavily modified), and to make it fit snugly i filed the point off the front of the clock.
Cost me about £25 i think.

The one you posted the link to looks good, but at a helluva price!

I really dislike the skidmarx screen :yuck:

I`m with you on that screen weirdo,so i made mine out of a cbr 600 screen and it`s wider than any of the after market screens and follows the lines of the bike better,oh and it was free as it was lying around in the shed  .

That Jap screen is neat enough, if a little bland looking.
Where do they get that price from!

I have a skidmarx screen on mine.

I think its oddball looks suit the VRaptor.

It works very well indeed. :)

I don't particularly like the Skidmarx screen, and I would prefer not to drill holes in those horns. So far, I've been lucky enough not to require one, as I must be just small enough to duck under the wind blast.
Carnivore had one on his, and he really needed it, IIRC he had the taller one too, he found it rather uncomfortable over a certain speed without it.
I know my OH gets hit over 70 ish, and 90 isn't a particularly pleasant experience. I've got upto 93 before I've noticed owt

I felt i had to fit one for safety at speed as while trying to negotiate any series of bends at anything above 90mph(on private roads of course) it was difficult to muscle the bike from one side to the other as most of my physical effort was being used to hold on against the wind blast. After fitting the screen all was well and i can also criuse at over the ton as well.Personally i think any screen is a compromise to the looks but safety while hooning is vital :revrev: .
