Please help sourcing exhaust mounting parts

Post by Bfef »

Hi everybody, finally putting the finishing touches to the Rappy - mostly putting right what the previous owner broke :?
Seems like he crashed it and decided to fit random parts, in fitting them he broke perfectly good bits to bodge on the 3rd party bits
The last bits I need are exhaust fittings, I ordered them from oemmotor site and after a 7 week wait it seems that they can't provide everything I need as they are discontinued :o

This page shows what I need:
http://www.oemmotorparts.com/oem5.asp?M ... A-RAP-1_BU

Item 1 - exhaust clamp (2 required)
Item 13 - rubber damper (2 required)
Item 17 - spacer (1 required)

My question is - can anyone help me source 3rd party bits that will fit on please? I have tried hard to get the OEM bits as they fit right on and return the bike to original but this time I cannot get them

The exhaust clamps need to be hex headed so I can pull them up tight enough, the OEM ones have a 22mm band and are labelled 48-51 which is the diameter I think.

The rubber dampers need to be heat resistant I guess for the exhaust temperature and are 20mm long. They need to be "waisted" so they are 22mm-ish at the outside but only about 16mm in the middle. They have a 12mm hole through.

The spacer is a 12mm long "slug" with a 9mm hole through and a 20mm flange at one end.

Hope someone can point me in the right direction, thanks as always for your suggestions! Bfef.

Clamp = 'Mikalor' stainless steel, available on ebay, gear4bikes, mandp, demontweakes or your fave hardware supplier.

Can't remember which supplier I used but the clamps are top :)

i'll get back to you on t'others

I replaced the rubber dampers on mine over winter as they had disintegrated :(

I was going to make some out of other dampers but then found out that Rob at Mito Mondo could get em - took a week or so and I remember thinking they weren't a bad price :D

Unfortunately Rob from Mito Mondo never returned my e-mails.

Does anyone think these might fit?

Exactly the shape I want but no idea about the size!

Edited to add: Here's a better picture showing the exploded diagram where it fits:

It may be worth asking a Yamaha dealer for the dimensions.

If they think there's a chance of a sale they should find out for you.

I know Rob can be busy and takes him a while to get back to you, think I phoned him so dunno what hes like for emails, sorry.
Those Yamaha ones do look similar but not the same as they look too short - but then could be wrong as I have slept many many times since then, let us know what you find out - have you got the dimensions of the old one?
