The clocks from the 650 are different to the ones on a 1000, one has a white background, one black, the red line is also different.
I have looked at the circuit boards inside the clocks, I think there are some soldered links that need to be swapped to make them read either MPH or KPH, I've never had the courage to try and swap them though.
