there was an Aprilia one that fitted - a Falco maybe?

edit
yup a Falco one fits with a small amount of grinding the top (?) - but there is a V rap one on €bay too, number 280828489822

orrible boingy when it 'goes' isn't it ? :wavesad: and on bobbly roads it's painful

:happyhappy:
How much mileage was on your shock Julie?
I've had two shocks on mine in ten years (both standard - I bought the second from a mate who fitted a white power shock to his away back)
I was considering getting the popped one refurbished, but not sure whether it would be worth it, or better (when the time comes) to get a Hagon or WP.

I think there are a lot of shocks out there that can be fitted with slight mods. I have a mid 90's Fireblade on mine, paid £45 for it and it's been great but needed a bit of work to fit. (it's also a few mm longer so lifts her bum up a wee bit).

Raps aint exactly the lightest of bikes, so whatever you do fit needs to be from a good sized beastie or the spring won't cope.

Piggy-back types won't fit without a lot of changes under the seat.

ps. a 14mm ratchet ring spanner is worth it's weight in gold with this job
To a Raptor....EVERYTHING else is just prey !!

I'd say refurbishment Snap. My mate rebuilds shocks as part of his M/C services(specialises in suspenders), he took an old one from me once, and said it was the biggest bag of #insert sweary word here# and was neither use nor ornament!
Better to go buy an upgrade.
Hagon are plug and play AFAIK, got one on my SV, so pretty certain they don't need any chopping of parts to fit, as they're listed for Raps. Sure theres many more, Maxton, White wotsit, and possible Penske that do a direct replacement for lots of dosh :pinch:

Your Rapter looks like a sci fi robot dragon! and it breaths fire too! It singed my eye brows and boiled my eyes at the lights! smudge

Anyone tried an Aprilia Tuono shock, more choice on ebay and generally newer than falco shocks. My shock just dumped it's damping fluid so need a new shock, haven't got the cash for a new one.
Also saw an 2008 1100 Ducati Monster shock, any thoughts.
Cheers Scott :(

Just remember, the "bargain" on e-bay is "sold as seen" whereas the Hagon at £300 is guaranteed and is re-buildable when needed.
