My current ride....

Post by Tommytuck »

2004 BMW R1200 GS......
This early model never came in black (originally Yellow/silver)
Just had to transform it a tad, not really one for riding stock livery lol.

Scratchin in the Pyrenees is never a good idea with just a muscle top on

Like how you've stacked your exhausts. I'd like to do that with my Rap. It may or may not ever happen.

Riding along in the sunshine in just a vest or T-shirt is one of life's great pleasures. A lot of people would never dream of riding unless they were weraing full armoured gear. They don't know what they're missing.

Mind you, if I ever do it, I don't indulge in any heroics. I once went round a favourite corner in just my shirt trailing sparks from my footpeg.... and then some sparks from the handlebars and headlight as well. I lost quite a bit of skin off my arm in that particular prang.

Oh dear.....having an off in a t-shirt is something familiar to myself also Red Mist lol
I was nipping round the corner from my house to the bank on my Streetfighter Vmax
when an elderly gentleman decided to run across the road in front of me, big mistake for both
of us.
He got bounced & i just couldn't hold the big V4 upright long enough to get my kebs on the ground.
One elderly busted head & one riders skin rash/expensive body work fix....ouch, ouch feckin ouch! Bad result all round.

The Beemer has Akrapovic shot gun titanium system (not road legal of course :tada: )
Full Ohlins suspension also, such a difference with ride ability......

I only ride in non protective gear when blistering hot, out on my own or with mates that know each others riding
although I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.
I'm an IAM observer & have to lead by example  when training candidates....
The advanced motorcycle training course is well informative & comes highly recommended.

Here's a wee pic of my ole "1986" full power Max (c/w short ass nephew)
Stage 7 dyno
Hi com pistons
Gas flowed heads
V boost removed
Laser stainless exhaust system
Total respray
full body kit etc etc etc

V4 raw power at it's best :woot:
This machine got the full works from stock (minus the engine tune up) by myslef & a few mates....no expense spared.
Stripped to the bare bones, sprayed and rebuilt from the ground up.
Moved on to a new owner a few years ago & haven't seen it since.

All part of the fun
