Weekend ride & camp
Re: Weekend ride & camp
Hi Tom.
Already did my annual trip to Scotland a few weeks ago. Can only afford it once a year. Hope the weather holds out. Have a good 'un.
If you plan your 2013 trip to Lancashire, I'll be happy to meet up for a jar-o. The weather's shit and the locals are miserable, but apart from that, there's lots to recommend it!

Re: Weekend ride & camp
As the Tyndrum to Portree leg is shortish (less than 170 miles) I would suggest an alternative route with better (more fun) roads at the start of that trip. You can always do Glencoe on the route back down to Troon.
Anyway, from Tyndrum head for Oban until you get to Connel Bridge on the A85
At Connel go over the bridge (left turn after you go under the bridge!)
Thats you on the A828 all the way to the Ballachulish Bridge which you cross to head up to the Fort on the A82! (back on your route)
Its a much more fun route, quieter usually and some great twisties! It adds about 24 miles to your original route but you will love it!!!
