Yes I have.
You will need:-
1. A copy of the workshop manual.
2. Plenty of time, as you need to take measurements, then check shim sizes (if required), order new shims and then fit new shims (you can rebuild after checking, then re-strip for fitting new).
3. A good set of feeler gauges (0.01mm increments).

Basically, you need to strip the cam covers off, then measure the clearance on each valve, then remove cams and buckets to access shims to check sizes, calculate required new sizes, and replace shims (number goes towards the bucket), then rebuild and re-check clearances.

checked mine when the engine was out after the write-off just for the hell of it and found everything was spot on but that was expected as it had only done 5k miles at the time.

My bike has 26000 km on it.
Do you think that the valves needs to be checked?
I plan to check them at 28000km
Also is it necessary to remove the cams in order to replace a shim?

Clearances are to be checked every 26,000km.

Yes, the cams have to be removed to replace shims.
