Clutch cable repair kit

Post by dizzyblonde »

Anyone had any experience with these?
Friend of mine uses them successfully, but I wondered what you guys think.
It came up in conversation when I sent someone on a mission to find a VRaptor cable and he came back with the cost of

£108

WTF 108£ for clutch cable !?

My spare part dealer doesnt have exact clutch cable for Cagiva, but I think Suzuki TL clutch cable might do the job.

Motion Pro's new cable costs in Finland 18,90€ and in their own web site 15,99$

I dont know where that 108£ come from...

I'm just curious. I don't think mine needs a new one, but it shows quite a bit of cable when you pull the lever in. Compared to my other bikes that is.

Having a larf at that price, must be gold plated

I know they are difficult to source and are different in some way to the TL cables. Just wondering how this kit may fair as a tool box item when on tour?

Are you talking about the Venhill repair kit?
Venhill kit is usually top notch so I'd bet on it working.
When I need a new cable I'll be contacting Venhill.

i wouldnt trust a repair kit other than get you home job. i carry a hein gerricke kit when i do a rally and it has a loose nipple with a grub screw to lock it .
The old type were soldered on and i would trust that more.

My clutch cable went last year. I got a early tl1000 s cable fom wemoto for something like £15 . The metal ends had to much of a bend so I gently straightened them out using the old one as a template , I also took the adjusting but of the bottom end as thee wasn't enough slack. All works fine now .

Hi guys, would anyone know the dimensions of the clutch cable for a Vrap 1000? I was on the phone to Venhill this morning and they don't keep the measurements or part number even though several members here have used them before.

V4mp, is the clutch cable on the motion pro website a replacement for the Vrap?

Also I did a search on here and back in 2004 a member said that the Triumph Daytona clutch cable is a direct fit for the bike. Anyone know if this was the Daytona 600 / 650 or 955i?

I know the early TL1000s fits but needs some bending and routing.
