My 2c for mounting gipro and after market headlamp...

Post by MrRaptor »

Hi guys!
I´m new here (as a writer) but old as a reader. Got my self raptor 1000 year ago and loving it. Made some small modifications and I thought I´ll share them if that might help someone else. Also added crashpads and new bitubo 0.95 frontsprings.(Havent tested yet)
Feel free to comment or not
Cheers

Welcome, nice job, looks like you have some skills in metal fabrication. After having fitted my gipro i couldnt do without it now. I wired mine direct to the ignition on the fusebox so its not draining power when bike is off. Although very minimal its possible to flatten the battery if you dont ride for periods more than a few weeks :o but the lithium is up to the task 8) What gear do you run the tre in, ihave it mostly in 6 but cant really tell the difference :D which one is the richer ?

I got the lamp from local distributor and it is universal model(LSL Urban 125€) and I made the brackets my self from 5mm aluminum and painted them satin black.
Ozzraptor, I did the same thing and wired it all the way to the fusebox. I haven´t use it on the road yet...

I haven´t tryed them yet but beginning of june I´ll take it out from carage and "start" my summer and then let you know. At least when I push the bike it feels more solid but thats just the feel. Bitubo was budged solution as they cost 104€(on sale) with oil and did the work my self.

Nice, you got a pic of the bike from a distance with that headlight? I'm tempted... :)

Yeah that light looks great, gives it the mean 'fighter look. I'd be tempted too but I really feel that the pointy bits on the Xtra do help to disrupt the wind blast a bit - it's much easier to ride at high speed than my Monster, although the 200+ zone is still quite hard work! :woot:

The wind blast is not too bad in this one! I don´t know is the shape of headlamp or mirrors that I have or both....

Give it a go - I'll bet you $50 you notice the wind blast!

I believe you spyke!
Today I went for a test drive and I must say the bitubo springs work fine. (But the only comparison I have is the old org. ones.)
Here´s another pic for cF^(and rest of you) from the front.
