Hi from Gloucestershire
Hello everyone, I'm Richard from Stroud Gloucestershire. I got my beautiful Raptor 1000 Friday and I love the bike to bits. I've had a lot of bikes, Bandit 1200; Hayabusa and recently a Suzuki GSR600 which I loved but could not cope with the lack of torque. The raptor suits me fine, low seat height (I'm a short @rse) and seamless torque to the red line . Went for a 90 mile blast yesterday and loved every minute. The ride is much different steering is very precise and engine very torquey. I find the clutch a little heaver than the GSR but I'm a big boy so will get used to it. Will post pictures when I return from holiday next week. Best regards Red.

Welcome aboard red! It's early doors, so just a coffee for me thanks.
I'm small, weak and puny, and the only probs I've had with the clutch lever is that the OEM lever was a bit far away, causing me to have to overstretch my hand to reach the lever, that was fixed by an aftermarket adjustable. I've never had any probs with a heavy lever, is what I'm trying to say, still on the original cable so maybe your cable just needs a bit of lube (fnarr, kyuk, as Finbarr Saunders would say!)?

Road racing's where it's at - going round in circles all day is for hamsters.
Re: Hi from Gloucestershire
Welcome in, I would strip the procket cover off and check out the worm drive for the clutch, it gets forgotten about during servicing

Welcome in
was over Gloucestershire way a week or so ago, what the devil did they do to birdlip? looks like they actually did some road work somewhere - how very unusual!!
yup, as mentioned, age related clutch stiffness, -> check for wear lever-end, pinching anywhere, and lube it up, I've only had to replace once so far.
and Enjoy
