The Big Bike Transporter

Post by Aussiejoe »

The Boss at last has given me the big truck to drive, the truck (lorry) I used to drive is the one on the left, the big "boy" is the one on the right.

The cab is very high, and a long climb up, overall height is 4.3 metres and 18 metres long. Has built in slide out fridge, slat bed, electric powered air con(cooling only) for sleeping, electric blanket running off an inverter, and most importantly a 12 inch sub-woofer bolted in right behind the driver's seat....and trust me that baby gets a work out

Have room for about 17 bikes, that's a BMW R100RT trike up the front and an electric golf cart on the other side'.

My usual week is about 3500km in 4 days, Brisbane to Cairns and return sometimes running through central Queensland, Australia. I used to do that run in my little 11 metre long rigid truck, now I'm in a much longer articulated vehicle, and herein lies my problem, I'm still bloody expected to delivery your motorcycle to your front door! My boss does really love me

Sweet, nice toys! I could see myself getting a BMW trike when my knees and ankles start to fail :D

But if you think it's hard to manoeuvre the big boy you should try reversing a road train when it's got two trailers on the back, that's not for the faint-hearted but is wonderfully satisfying when you finally manage to crack it.
Road racing's where it's at - going round in circles all day is for hamsters.
