50 K miles review

Post by pod »

Cracked half a ton on it earlier this year.

Overall impressions, great bike, very reliable, it wears stuff out.Jist like most modern bikes.
However it has a certain charm, a perky sense of devilment even,,it is a "bugger to go " as they say and doesnt like hanging around ,unlike most "fast bikes" it will pass most things including petrol stations, I got 220 miles with half a litre to go once. Although considered as the "ladies " model the rapatorina has enough balls to amuse anyone on a twisty road.

Worst bits.
The rear brake, and the" paint" on the footrest hangers.Spares prices. Crappy plastic side pod bits.
Changing gear a lot, you must work it like an LC, ( Sometimes this is the best bit)
Best bits,
Everything else. Even after " tweaking the motor" cams and timing, it still runs from oil change to oil change with no top ups, and does at least 50 mpg, more if you take it easy.
The handling is good, and can be improved if you spend a few quid on rear linkage upgrades.

If you have one, you are lucky, if you want one and they come up cheap here and there, grabit.
Stay calm.
