Front master cylinder

Post by Terrapista »

Hi all.
Just like to know how the lever sits on the piston. Is there a spiggot to actuate the piston? I tried looking at the oem fiche suggests no spiggot so maybe in the lever adjustment maybe? Photo of how it sits would be ideal.
I took off damaged one ages ago but neglected to note this simple thing.
Thank you
Leon

Very helpful. Not missing anything but definitely have to source oem lever. The aftermarket one I have fits but not flush at the underside.
Thank you for your time and consideration aussiejoe.

Happy to help mate, sorry it took me a few days to get back to you, saw your post late Sunday night just before bed and had to take a truck to North Queensland early Monday morning, hence the delay. You'll struggle to find an OEM one, but a Suzuki one should fit like this http://www.ebay.pl/itm/Brake-Lever-silv ... 3cc8bb9db2 or some modifications with a rotary file aka grinder.

Let me know if you need any help with sorting out your bike, I have my 650 carby model in pieces at the moment, so I can get pics for you.

Hi. Just wondering if its possible to get the piston back to the actuation point in order to bleed the brakes. There is a leak inside the boot which has probably caused the piston to set further in.
Cheers for any advice

How about trying the reverse bleed method ? use a syringe on the caliper bleed nipple and push the fluid 'backwards' up into the master cylinder.

I used this method after I took the caliper pistons out for a seal refurbish and found that bleeding them in the usual manner proved pretty much impossible.
