Battery removal
Battery removal
Hi folks is there a particular way of removing the battery as it’s an incredibly tight squeeze & I’m worried about damaging something. Thanks

Re: Battery removal
Remove side panel, drill hole in side of battery box at bottom, it’s easy to do as it’s plastic (don’t drill into battery!!)
Use a small screwdriver in hole to lever battery upwards to grab hold of.........
How do I know this you say...........
I have a hole already!

Re: Battery removal
I remove, what I think is the air pressure sensor that is mounted on the inside on the left had side. A small black box held by a single screw/bolt with a prong on it.
That gives you a little more space to start wiggling him backwards and upwards and you'll probably find you'll also need to press the wiring loom on the right hand side out of the way. Removing the coolant overflow pipe also gives better access to the positive leads.
When installing make sure you get the battery fully down it's cubby hole as it's easy for it to catch on one of the tray's mouldings and for you to think that's as far as it will go. It lies pretty much horizontal so getting your fingers underneath and lifting a little will help it push it down as far as it will go.
Oh, and one last thing you also need to remove the tool roll rubber strap bracket which is a right old fiddle and you'll no doubt drop and lose the bolt.
