Raptor 650 i.e. newbie here from Jakarta, Indonesia; just got my '08 delivered last Friday after months of contemplation as it'd been more than 15 years since I owned/ridden a bike (my last bike was an '02 Gixxer 750). So glad I decided to pick her up as I have always admired SV/TL engines and of course the fine bodywork which in my opinion never gets dated. She's got more than 35k under her belt with around 20-30% mods from front and back.
A few highlights of aftermarket specs:
ProArm single-side swingarm
Custom local undertail exhausts (k10 R1-style)
LED daymaker headlight + taillight
Spy mirror
Frame slider
Rizoma handgrip
Set of Battlax 21s
Anyway here are several pics of my bike. I intend to revert her to 90% original state (including the original fairing/windscreen - appreciate if anyone can provide leads as to where I might find one).
Thank you and look forward to hearing from you all. Cheers!
Welcome indeed! It's amazing to see the spread of the membership. Are you a native of Indonesia or just living there for a while?
The bike looks great! It's the first time I've heard of a single-sided swing-arm conversion on one of these. Was the ProArm a Honda thing? I think my Honda NTV/Revere was reckoned to have one of them but it was shaft-drive through it, so not the same as yours. Maybe it's an aftermarket conversion?

Thank you, Nick! I am a native here and came across the group just a few weeks ago (glad I did).
The bike had the swingarm change sometime during the 2nd ownership (I'm the 4th) and to be honest I've yet to confirm whether it's an elf/Honda usually found on VFR/RVF/NTV/NC models or a custom built/conversion. Pretty sturdy during rides but it may quite challenging if I decide to revert to standard exhaust placement since the arm protrudes slightly.

The raptor never came with a fairing/windscreen or are you thinking of the fancy gubbins on the front of the V-Raptor model? If so then I reckon these will be as rare as hens teeth.
I reckon it looks to be pretty good as it is and if it isn't a bodge job then why not leave it alone?

Hi, Andy. I was referring to the angular fairing that sits right on top of the headlight (doesn't house the headlight itself like the V-Raptor). Not sure if they were standard OEM, though (please see picture below).
More for Andie's benefit; I'm pretty sure that screen only appeared on the 650ie and not the earlier 1000 Raptor. It works well to deflect a bit of wind pressure, without creating turbulence. I wonder why someone removed it? You'll be lucky to find one!

Agree, Nick. I think out of less than 10 650 (i.e.) that were imported here only 1 that still has its fairing intact (rarely ridden, as far as I know). Definitely rare to find among the used part pool.
